PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY
Cleanings
The Canadian Dental Association (CDA), recommends children visit the dentist within 6 months of their first tooth erupting, or by their 1st birthday. Having a dental exam every 6 months will let your child’s dentist catch small problems early. We start polishing children’s teeth as soon as they let us. Sometimes it is 2 years of age, and sometimes it is 3 or 4 years of age. We encourage but do not force it. We want every appointment to be a positive experience.

Nitrous Sedation
Also known as laughing gas, is a safe and easy way to help children (or adults) who are anxious in the dental chair. A soft nose piece is placed over the nose as the patient breathes in and out. After a few minutes, they will feel at ease, as it helps relax your body. The nose piece stays on through the appointment as we do our treatment. After we are done, the patient breathes in oxygen through the nose piece for about 5 minutes, and they leave feeling completely normal.

Fillings
We do white composite fillings on children in our office and make it fun! Mr. Thirsty and the Rubber Raincoat are a few of our terms. We explain and show kids what we do first, no surprises.

Extractions
Sometimes children need teeth removed to allow space for their adult teeth or because a tooth is infected. We will make sure your child is comfortable and excited for the tooth fairy to visit.
